What if a panel home obtains neither an ordinary antenna nor a STB with a valid
C&S connection by January 5, 2013 (the last day of TAM reporting week 1, 2013)?
These homes are technically TV-dark homes without a legal mode of TV
reception. Such homes will be removed from the panel. Also, there will be no
associated “C&S Analog” universe component for the DAS areas. We will
monitor the situation closely and keep the industry informed.

Does this mean that “C&S Analog” is not relevant anymore for the four metros?
In the current DAS phase, only the MC limits of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and
Chennai are specified as the mandatory DAS areas.
While ‘Delhi’ for TAM is defined as only the MC area of Delhi, TAM uses a
broader definition of the city for Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai: the MC area +
adjoining areas which the Census together defines as Urban Agglomeration (UA)
for the city. See the map below for an example of Mumbai – the area marked by
the solid black line is the MC area (and therefore the DAS area) – the areas
marked by circles are those not in the MC but which are included in the UA.
For example, Navi Mumbai, though not in the MC part of Mumbai, is part of the
Mumbai” definition of TAM since it is included as such by the Census in
defining “Mumbai UA”. In this area, a home can still receive C&S channels
