II.
Summary
A.
Data Reporting
In view of what is likely to be a very dynamic on-ground situation due to
digitisation, TAM will defer reporting of viewing data of weeks 41-49 (data
period October 7, 2012 to December 8, 2012) for the four metros to week 51
(
specifically, December 19, 2012). Data for week 50 2012

onwards will be as
per the regular weekly schedule.
Apart from the four metros impacted by digitisation, there could be
decisions impacting reporting of other markets too. This will also be based
on discussions with industry bodies. You will receive a communication
from TAM on this aspect which should be read jointly with this Phase 1
DAS-specific document.
Beginning November 1, 2012, TAM will not report channel-specific data for
homes in Phase I DAS areas which receive C&S channels without a STB.
Data for these channels will be grouped under ‘Others’. Data from homes
in the non-MC areas of the cities (which do not fall under Phase I of DAS
implementation plan) will continue to be reported as at present. NCS
homes will continue to be reported as at present - whether in the MC or
non-MC area of the city.
B.
Universe
There will be a special DAS universe update effective from the data week
beginning October 28, 2012 (week 44). The new universes will be visible to
the user community on December 19, 2012 when the data for weeks 41 – 50
are released.
This update will be over and above the regular annual universe update for
all markets across India on December 30, 2012 (Week 1, 2013). The four
metro estimates will be updated again at that time.
