IV. End-Note
There are a number of technically very challenging tasks that TAM needs to
accomplish to ensure a smooth DAS transition for the industry. Homes will have
to be classified appropriately and migrated to new statuses with care. The special
DASES are in progress. Universe estimates from DASES will have to be
incorporated into the TAM processing system so panelists are weighted
appropriately and the universe estimates are reflected correctly. They then have
to pass through testing and quality control. We will apply the universe estimates
to the week beginning October 28, 2012. In order to be consistent with the
universe estimates, even if a panel home has turned digital in the middle of this
period (October 28, 2012 – December 1, 2012) they will be classified as digital
starting October 28, 2012. Apart from all this, we also have the regular annual
universe update for which we have commissioned a separate DES. A summary
calendar encapsulating the key dates is given overleaf in Appendix 1.
